Rethinking How We Create Change in Healthcare: Andrea Spencer at the Canada West Healthcare Innovation Summit
Presenters at the Bamberg Health Canada West Healthcare Innovation Summit

Healthcare leaders, government representatives, technology partners, and innovators came together at the Bamberg Canada West Healthcare Innovation Summit to explore the ideas and solutions shaping the future of healthcare.

Andrea Spencer, Partner and Healthcare Practice Lead at Optimus SBR, moderated a keynote panel featuring deputy ministers in health portfolios of Alberta and British Columbia that focused on the transformation underway across Canada’s healthcare systems.

A central theme of the discussion was the important role that governments, service delivery organizations, and other sector partners—both public and private—must play in enabling digital transformation across healthcare. The panel also explored the need for the sector to invest and partner differently, recognizing that the wants and needs of the population are changing significantly.

These changes require healthcare leaders to rethink how care is delivered and how partners across the ecosystem are critical to responding effectively to evolving needs. The panel discussion set the tone for a day of conversations addressing some of the most pressing opportunities facing healthcare, including:

Optimizing healthcare systems: Strategies for managing resources, integrating technology, and sustaining workforce efficiency.

Advances in enabling technologies: The role of technological innovations that advance preventative care and treatment, improve the use of physical space, and optimize operations.

Digital transformation: The importance of achieving interoperability of systems and data to drive strategy and the criticality of cybersecurity in protecting patient data.

Diagnostic technology: Advancements and applications in artificial intelligence and automation that are changing how we support earlier diagnoses and improve patient outcomes.

Congratulations to Andrea on representing Optimus SBR and contributing to an important conversation about digital transformation, collaboration, and the changing needs of Canada’s healthcare systems.
